JEE Counselling 2026: Reporting & Document Verification Steps at College for IITs
After the joint seat allocation and seat acceptance process is completed, candidates must report to the admitting institute. They need to complete all admission formalities, pay the required institute fees, confirm their admission, and start the academic session. All the certificates will be re-checked by the admitting Institute during the reporting at the admitting institute. The admission will be cancelled if they fail to fulfil the requirements as per the prevailing norms. Those who have already successfully accepted a seat in JoSAA would not be eligible to participate in the JEE (Advanced).
Additionally, biometric verification will be done against the biometric data captured at the time of the exam. The admission will be cancelled if any aspirant fails the biometric verification. Reporting schedules and the mode of reporting at the admitting Institute will be declared on the official JoSAA website. The list of documents to be uploaded for Online Reporting for admission to IITs during JoSAA counselling:
- Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate or Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate (for Date-of-Birth)
- Class XII Mark Sheet (Qualifying Examination)
- Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable
- Original Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable
- Original Certificate for persons having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing, if applicable
- Crossed Bank Cheque copy / Image of Passbook with bank account details
- Medical Certificate
- OCI certificate /PIO card, if applicable
- Passport / Citizenship certificate, if applicable

The physical reporting at the admitting Institute will be done after the CSAB Special Rounds are concluded. All the certificates will be re-checked by the admitting Institute during reporting at the admitting Institute. The admission will be cancelled if they fail to satisfy the requirements as per the prevailing norms. Aspirants allotted a seat in the NIT+ System must visit the CSAB website for the schedule of Physical Reporting. The list of documents to be uploaded for online reporting for admission to the NIT+ System during JoSAA counselling:
- Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate or Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate (for Date of Birth)
- Class XII Mark Sheet and Certificate (Qualifying Examination)
- Admit card of JEE (Main)
- Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable
