Eligibility Criteria for JoSAA Registration 2026

The admission to IITs is based on JEE (Advanced) 2026. The Admission to NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs (referred to as the NIT+ system) is based on JEE (Main) 2026 B.E. / B. Tech. Paper, JEE (Main) 2026 B.Arch. / B. Plan. Paper. Qualifying in these examinations does not confirm admission. The JoSAA 2026 Registration process is compulsory for all qualified candidates who want to join any of the IITs, NITs, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and Other-GFTIs (within the purview of JoSAA). (ii) For foreign nationals and OCI/PIO card holders who have not registered/appeared in JEE (Main) 2026: Login with JEE (Advanced) 2026 Direct Registration login ID and password.

Step 1: New Candidate Registration

Candidates who are registering for the first time are required to authenticate themselves with their JEE Main 2026 information. 

• Go to the official JoSAA website.
• Select the “New Candidate Registration” link.
• Enter your name, JEE Main 2026 application number, DOB, Mother’s name, and other relevant details.
• Click on the “Submit “ button.
• Enter the OTP received on your JEE Main 2026 registered email ID and phone number.
• Now, create a new password and go to the login.

Step 2: Log in to JoSAA 2026 Candidate Portal

Upon the completion of JoSAA 2026 registration, applicants will be redirected to the JoSAA candidate portal. You will be required to complete the JEE counselling application form 2026:

• Log in with your JEE Main 2026 application number and created password.
• You will receive an OTP at your registered email ID and phone number.
