JEE Seat Allotment Status 2026: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will release the JEE 2026 Seat Allotment Status only at the JoSAA online portal, i.e. josaa.nic.in. The JEE seat allotment result of each round will be announced on the official website. The candidate can view the JEE seat allotment result by login into the system. After each round of allotment, the individual allotment result, institute-wise allotment result and opening and closing rank will be announced. 

Applicants can download the JEE seat allocation result using their JEE application number and password. Aspirants will be required to accept the seat allocated and opt for any one of the options ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’ or ‘Float’ for the choice of academic course for subsequent round(s), if any, of joint seat allocation. Candidates are required to log in to the JoSAA portal and check their JEE Seat Allotment status. It helps them know if a seat is allocated in the respective round of JEE seat allocation. What to do After JEE Seat Allotment 2026 Result?

An aspirant who has been allocated a seat should download the Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip. It is a crucial document that comprises details regarding the Seat Allotment and steps to be followed for seat confirmation by the aspirant. Follow these steps after the release of the JEE Seat Allotment result round-wise:

  • Accept the Seat: Applicants need to accept the seat allocated and opt for any one of the options ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’ or ‘Float’ for the choice of academic course for subsequent round(s), if any, of joint seat allocation.
  • Upload the documents: The aspirant must upload all the required documents on the JoSAA portal if the required documents have not already been submitted during JoSAA registration.
  • Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee: Aspirants must pay the seat acceptance fee to proceed in the JoSAA process till the end to secure a seat in IITs or NIT+ System. The documents uploaded will not be verified till the aspirant pays the seat acceptance fee. The admission fee differs across the Institutes/categories of candidates and is different from the seat acceptance fee.
  • Respond to queries (if any): During the document verification process, if the DV officer raises any query, the aspirant must respond in online mode through their candidate portal within the deadline. Failing to do so on time will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat, and they will not be able to participate in the next rounds of JoSAA, if any.

JEE Seat Allotment 2026- Fee Details

Aspirants will be required to pay the JEE seat acceptance fee using a Debit card/UPI/ Credit card/Net Banking /E-Challan/CSC. There will also be an option for the applicants to make a prepayment of the “JoSAA seat acceptance fee”. The payment link for this will be active from the starting day of JoSAA choice filling till the deadline for locking the choices by the applicants. The pre-payment fee will be refunded in full if the applicant is not allotted a seat. The pre-payment provision is optional for the applicants. Below is the category-wise JoSAA Seat Acceptance Fee based on last year’s notification for reference purposes:

The seats will be confirmed by IITs / NIT+ System Institutes only after the uploaded documents are successfully verified. If all the certificates are found to be accurate and candidates satisfy all the eligibility criteria, the allocated seat will be provisionally confirmed, and the applicant will be notified on the online JoSAA portal.
